Our story – Emilee & Reinier's wedding

Our story is like many of yours – unique. We first met many years ago as acquaintances but timing wasn’t right. Years later, the stars aligned for us.

2014

Michigan Trip

We were both invited through our mutual friend Nate to spend a week at his parents house in Michigan. We spent several days as a group of 15 playing many rounds of Mafia where Reinier often won with his expert poker face. The photo above is the first photo we have taken over 10 years ago. Look at those baby faces!

2019

Premier rendez-vous

After many years, we re-connected at one our mutual friend group events. Emilee had signed up for a paragliding lesson the next day which happened to be in Milpitas, where Reinier lived. They decided to meet up for ramen the next day and the rest is history!

2020

Covid Times

After dating for only a few months, Covid hit and we immediately became our only bubble. When covid started getting bad in the bay area, we looked at where else we could go to escape for a bit and decided on Wyoming. Our one month workcation extended additional months to Idaho and Utah and started a new workcation tradition.

2023

Colombia

Our next workcation was in Colombia. We spent a month in Medellín exploring the area with weekend trips to Guatapé and Manizales to learn about growing and roasting coffee. We tried tons of Colombian food and then spent a week traveling to Bogota and Cartagena.
